Abstract: Usually the wideband imaging radar works in the alternation mode of tracking in narrow signal and imaging in wideband signal. It takes two pulse repetition cycles to finish one of tracking and imaging,so that the track and image rate are slow. This paper puts forward a method using wideband signals to track ballistic targets based on solid state phase array. It changes completely the alternation mode of narrow and wideband signals.Imaging and tracking can be finished in a single cycle so that the radar resource can be saved and the tracking and imaging rate increases greatly. In the mean time the extracting methods of range and angle information are discussed. The method is tested and verified by simulation.
