    SUN Jinghu was born in 1984. He received his B.S. degree in electronic science and technology and M.S. degree in circuits and systems from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu, China, in 2007 and 2011, respectively.     LIU Jiahuan was born in 1990. She received her M.S. degree in electronics and communication engineering from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in 2016.     WEI Wenqiang was born in 1997. He received his B.S. degree in electronic information engineering from Qingdao University, in 2020.     YU Xianxiang was born in 1991. He received his B.S. degree in electronic information engineering and Ph.D. degree in signal and information processing from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), Chengdu, China, in 2014 and 2020, respectively. From 2018 to 2019, he was a visiting researcher with Pennsylvania State University, State College, PA, USA. From 2020 to 2022, he was a postdoctoral fellow with the UESTC. He is currently an associate professor with the School of Information and Communication Engineering, UESTC.     CUI Guolong was born in 1982. He received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), Chengdu, China, in 2005, 2008, and 2012, respectively. From January 2011 to April 2011, he was a visiting researcher with University of Naples Federico II, Naples, Italy. From June 2012 to August 2013, he was a postdoctoral researcher with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, NJ, USA. Since August 2018, he has been a professor with the UESTC.     ZHANG Xiuyin was born in 1978. He received his B.S. degree in communication engineering from Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Chongqing, China, in 2001, his M.S. degree in electronic engineering from South China University of Technology, Guangzhou, China, in 2006, and his Ph.D. degree in electronic engineering from City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, China, in 2009. From 2001 to 2003, he was with ZTE Corporation, Shenzhen, China. He was a research assistant from July 2006 to June 2007 and a research fellow from September 2009 to February 2010 with the City University of Hong Kong. He is currently a full professor with School of Electronic and Information Engineering, South China University of Technology. He also serves as the vice chair of IEEE Guangzhou Section and the director of the Engineering Research Center of Short-Distance Wireless Communications and Network, Ministry of Education. His research interests include antennas, radio frequency integrated circuit (RFIC), radio frequency components and sub-systems, and intelligent wireless communications and sensing. Abstract:

To enhance direction of arrival (DOA) estimation accuracy, this paper proposes a low-cost method for calibrating far-field steering vectors of large aperture millimeter wave radar (mmWR). To this end, we first derive the steering vectors with amplitude and phase errors, assuming that mmWR works in the time-sharing mode. Then, approximate relationship between the near-field calibration steering vector and the far-field calibration steering vector is analyzed, which is used to accomplish the mapping between the two of them. Finally, simulation results verify that the proposed method can effectively improve the angle measurement accuracy of mmWR with existing amplitude and phase errors.
